Does not surprise me at all that the designers do not touch the glass. Most of it that I have seen has bad color combinations and is "loud" in terms of designs and colors.  Much of it turns up on ebay without labels and offered as Italian glass.

Here is an example of a legitimate Pillow Vase from Archimede Seguso. This measures 7-1/4" (18.4 cm) tall and approximately 6-1/4" (15.9 cm) across. It is cranberry cased cobalt all cased in crystal, lightly at the base and heavier towards the top. This is the second of these we have owned and have seen a few of the other imitators. The other we had was white opalino.
