ID help - crushed glass, control bubbles & rough raised pontil

Hello all,

The weight is roughly2-3/4" in diameter and 1-3/4" tall. The glass is pale blue or greenish and contains a bed of multicolored crushed glass and patterned controlled bubbles. It also has a very rough raised pontil - it doesn't even rest flat.

I'm at a lose - English, Bohemian, American? I'd be greatful for any input.

My guess is "European". When i see a base finish like that (rather rough and heavy) I think of older German, but I do not know for sure.

Hi Eric.

I agree with Kevin that it looks European in style: similar pieces were made in various areas - Alsace, Belgium, Germany, Bohemia, Silesia (Germany), and probably elsewhere (though I don't think any have been definitely attributed to England).  However.... it gets complicated because some of the workers from these places emigrated to the US and made similar designs there - so it could be of US manufacture.
