Flower in the Rain Paperweight
« on: October 19, 2013, 11:14:50 AM »
This is the latest addition to my collection and it is quite an interesting one.

Many collectors will have seen a copy of the Caithness "Flower in the Rain" paperweight which was designed by Jack Allen whilst he worked for Caithness after leaving Perthshire. It was issued in 1974 in four different colours but what I have acquired seems to be a prototype of this weight. It is HUGE standing 4" tall and has a diameter of 4.5" and is scratch signed JA 1973 on the base. I have never seen a Jack Allen weight this big before not have I seen one scratch signed as I have three of Jack's weights and all  have his JA cane in the base.

Any comments please ?
Dave
