Whitefriars or Webb or what?
« on: November 10, 2013, 06:34:14 PM »
Hello, I've had this one for some time and just managed to remove internal watermark (with Solvol metal polish, cloth on a stick and about an hour of thrapping the thing in and out - the stick that is). I had in my mind that it was Whitefriars and in the Whitefriars book but it doesn't seem to be now. The pontil mark looks a bit Whitefriars but I tend to plump for Webb when I can't identify something that looks like it should be Whitefriars. It's very much a Whitefriars sort of colour - like the bubble bowls. I reckon it's from the late 1940s. It's 203mm in height and nice quality, any advice gratefully received.

Hi Keith, well yes it certainly has Webb like characteristics. An unusual shape it would seem though, I've not been able to find any images in books or internet like this one.
