possible wine carafe
« on: February 09, 2014, 07:58:45 PM »
With these opposing pouring lips I really don't see this as a vase, so am assuming a carafe (and the inside is very clean).                   No ring at all when flicked (soda glass ??) and in daylight it has a tendency to appear almost a slightly dirty colour , so apologies for the misleading pix.         The 16 point star is good quality - some reasonably well cut slicing on the shoulder with some fan splits and cross-hatching all of which feels fairly sharp - and there is a reasonable amount of wear, although I doubt that it's older than the first half of the C20.
Nothing remarkable, but it was just that I'd not seen a carafe of this shape/design before, so am considering a Continental origin possibly.                        About 6.25" (160 m/m) tall.

Do people think my dating and suggested origin o.k., and thanks for looking :)
