Can anyone confirm the pic in the Charlton is not a good one, this weight is date marked 79. Can anyone confirm this is the ct142 weight. I am very confused.

I feel the Charlton image of this weight is one of the better ones - just missing the colour information. The colour version of the same image is to be found on Scotland's Glass. Whilst the shape of the rose is somewhat different, the colour is right (red).
The 1980 version is blue.

Especially as your weight has the 79 cane, I would assume the shape of the bud is a usual variation - and your wight actually is CT142.
