Interesting Murano weight
« on: August 29, 2014, 11:10:42 AM »
I thought this may be of interest as it's a design I've not seen before.

It almost looks as if the glass maker was going to make a standard blue and green twist crown weight and decided to try something different, has anyone seen this style before?

I have seen the design before (one for sale recently, perhaps this very weight!) and immediately thought Fratelli Toso. I thought it was in Pina's book on FT but when I checked it was not. I am positive it is FT though.

Thanks John, I was contemplating FT by the design of the central cane, this one came from a flea fair at Malvern showground last Monday so doubt it was the one you saw for sale, so there must be at least 2 then :)

Same weight... it could be unique! ;D

There are a few other weights illustrated in that book too which have a single cane like that up top.
