Okay, I'm breaking the single item per post rule, please forgive me.
I have 4 millefiori scrambles that are very similar to the Japanese pieces from the 60's, but significantly "better".
The murrine are a bit thicker slices, and much more complex, versus the Japanese being very thin slices, and very simple canes.
The first and second photo are two different "mystery maker" pieces, photo three is the bottom of one of them, with the grid pattern. The other three pieces I have of the more complex murrine w8's have smooth bases. The fourth photo is a Japanese piece from the 60's, I have about 20 of these, most single color, some multi, but all "simple" thin sliced canes. I've posted it simply for comparison purposes.
Any ideas where the more complex "better" pieces came from? In the back of my head, I'm thinking perhaps Pairpoint, but I'm not quite certain.
Thanks for everyone's help.
