Topic: Modern mould blown bottle vase?

Hi again,haven't got a clue on this one I'm afraid,it's 14cm ht with very little wear with a polished pontil,a real one I think because it's not perfect,it's a blue to purple colour,any ideas on this one ,thanks.

Does it change colour under different types of light, eg fluorescent, low energy, daylight, incadescent bulbs? If so it's neodymium glass, which might help pin down a maker for you.  See some examples here: http://www.20thcenturyglass.com/glass_encyclopedia/alexandrite_glass/neodymium_glass.htm

Hi Anne,yes under a low energy light bulb it goes light green.

That is manganese, not neodymium. In view of the turned down neck (very much the design vernacular of the tens) I vote for modern decorative glass from India. But as always, I may be wrong.  It happens, you know.

No, it's neodymium that goes greenish or bluish from purple under low energy and fluorescent bulbs

Thanks for the replies,I've had a quick skirt around the intoe and I'm seeing the colour and look of neodymium but not the feel of this piece,apart from the sculpture ones,this seems softer and then chuck in an ancient Chinese type rim?

Bubbles, encrusted grit, tool marks - I still vote India.

Ahhh,slight embarrassment from me I'm afraid,that'll be my photo's Ivo the glass is clean and clear but I had rinsed it out just before taking the photos,so the bits are just dirt in from the inside and I guess the bubbles are droplets of water,many apologies should have stated that.
