ID for paperweights 4 of 8. ID = Caithness Glass
« on: July 23, 2015, 02:47:11 PM »
Hi,

If anyone can help me identify these paperweight(s) I'd be most grateful (original post separated into individual posts).

Inherited from a grandparent, so are assumed to be '60s or 70s. Some say 'Caithness', another 'Phoenix (something)', a few are 'signed', other than this I know little about them. All in good condition.

Thanks in advance!  :)

Hi, it looks like a Caithness CG cane double Harlequin made from around 1976.

I thought it might be, I have a weight with a Caithness cane, but mine is all squished up, so I wasn't absolutely sure.
They're not common things to find, are they? And they do indicate earlier rather than recent?
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Wow, detailed info, great thanks Malcolm. 1976, the year of my birth too, auspicious :)

Much appreciated
