Pirelli Mickey Mouse
« on: November 17, 2015, 06:45:39 PM »
Having looked at Frank's Glass Zoo I'm pretty sure this is a Pirelli Mickey Mouse. He measures 2 1/6ins tall. He is much brighter than these initial pictures show so I will add an image of him against a black background. He looks as if he may have some uranium content but there are hints of orange when using a black light.

He looks more like the original (slightly evil, rat-like) Mickey than the later (much cuter and softer) one.
You need a little UV torch. ;D
Your not having one is frustrating me. ;)

Christmas is coming Sue :D I do have a UV strip light though and definitely no uranium content in the figure.

My observation has been that uranium content can be very variable.
I have a Pirelli peacock which has uranium in it, although I have seen two others (for sale on my travels) with none.
I think an orange glow from UV indicates cadmium.

Hi Michael - thanks so much for adding that information and for creating Mickey in the first place. He now has a new home and I know his new owner will be delighted to have this extra information.
All the best
Alastair
