Multi-coloured Stripes/ Peacock Feather Glass ? Antique
« on: December 11, 2015, 02:07:54 PM »
Maybe I don't get out much but I've never seen anything like this and don't really know how to describe it. Without the colour, it looks a bit like a fairly ordinary flimsy Victorian or Edwardian rose bowl. The top rim is polished and the cutting is neatly done with each of the flower head cuts having polished concave centres. The colouring does feel raised to the surface but not really like enamelled surface decoration - it seems more integrated into the clear glass. Measures 5ins diameter and 4 1/2ins tall, weighing 350g. Any help with ID would be appreciated thanks.

Although I am not in a position to confirm identity I can tell you I have a similar piece which has been identified as Rindskopf. That would be a nice starting point for research.

It kind of reminds me of Wilhelm Steigerwald pieces somehow.  So maybe around that era?

Thanks both of you. Ivo's suggestion of Rindskopf took me via Google to this and a very similar bowl is further down the page but no ID http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,51351.0.html
