I guess though, it's wise to remember that the account of the collection was written in the late 1800s. The collection dates to c.1708/9 or before (if some of the items date earlier than that - I don't know if that is the case, it could be that they are all definitively made in 1708/9 but I have a query over two of the items which might date to mid 1600s). So it could be that what was perceived as a 'mustache glass' in 1868 was not made as a 'mustache glass' in 1708 perhaps? Unless of course that account was written by referencing earlier (contemporary to c1708) lists of inventory. I don't know if that is the case.
