Found a paperweight signed BSSA 79 at an antique mall in Phoenix.  I have found no information on the web.  Anyone know who the artist is?

It is desirable to show us a photo of the weight itself and a clearly focussed photo of the base as well.  If the signature is not on the base a focussed photo of it is desirable.  Photos must be individually < 125Kb in size and you can post up to 4 at a time.  For more info about resizing photos look in the reference section of the site.

By the way - welcome.  You will find this group are amazing in their knowledge and very generous with it as well.

Thanks Ross.  I knew that a photo would be best. Unfortunately, I am limited to the use of an iPad, which, from what I read, does not support reducing the size of the iPad photos.  We will be home in a couple months at which point I will have access to a computer and will try again.

The trouble is that BSSA could mean just about anything.  Baltimore Soccer Supporters Association, British Space Station Activists, Bendigo Stadium Saviours Associated, damn near any thing you can make up.  Also the paperweight is 39 years old so that the original BSSA may have ceased to exist for many years.  BUT we may be able to point you in the direction of who made it.

Meant to say - don't give up too easily.  This Paperweight for years I tried to find a name Spaletto.  Until someone said "What if the first two letters are Of for Orrefors?".  Eureka - Of PA 13770 - made perfect sense.  PA means designed by Sven Palmqvist and engraved!

Hi Rick,

There is an app I use called SimpleResize - set it to reduce the photo by about 50%.  You might have to fiddle around with it bit but I use this app for nearly every image I post here.

Best of luck,
Eric

Thanks for the photos Rick - but the resize has made them tiny.   See if you can make them larger say 300x300 or more and hopefully they will still be less than 125Kb.  Typically 400x400 will usually fit.  see the file sizes shown for my paperweight.  Also for any item that is not clear, it is best to use a plain white background as it shows the colours much better.

The signature position is normal for USA origin glass rather than elsewhere.
