Hi All.  Hope someone can help.  Been researching this piece for weeks with no success, so hope someone might be able to id it for me.  Found in the North West of England with a piece of classic Walther Solifleur I initially started looking in that area but with no success.  The 'sculptured' edge does look like some pieces from the Swedish maker Pukberg but again I've not been able to find this particular dish.  Can anyone help.  It measures 15 cms x 14 cms x 3.5 cms and weighs about 850 gms.  Thanks

Sorry no idea who made it but I wonder if it is for a pipe smoker, the small section to rest the pipe in and the larger section for ash.

Never seen this one so keep looking. Next possible searches: Oberglas Austria and Hoya, Japan.

Is it for olives and stones?  If so,  might that help to trace the maker?

Absolutely agree with John... a search of Google images for the search term glass pipe rest ashtray brings back a raft of similar items... it'd be worth a trawl through to see if you can find a match. :)

I also think John is correct  -  although I think modern pipe ashtrays look to have cork knockers in the larger compartment which this one doesn't   -  there is a La Vida example (is that Mexico) that's very similar to this.

edited to include another opportunity to show off my Dirk-inspired new photography set-up - apologies these have very little to do with contemporary pipe ashtrays, but I thought they looked good with this lighting...........   the clear example is signed Val St. Lambert. ;D
