Italian designer vase ?
« on: July 03, 2016, 12:31:02 PM »
I have just bought this piece and thought i had seen it somewhere but seem to have lost the link. Hmmm
The lugs have gold inclusions and the base has a rough pontil mark inset deep into the base. Height 27cm
Pity it has a watermark and i have a problem with cleaning it dry on the inside due to the small apparture.
Any suggestions as to the maker and more importantly and golden advice as how to clean it back to its former glory.
I would be truly grateful for any suggestions
Thanks for looking
kind regards
norman

Hi Norman,

From my side I can advise you to buy a long brush normally used for cleaning wine bottles. Choose one with soft bristles and wash it with fresh water and a bit of soap.
Concerning the manufacturing I cannot really tell if it is a true Murano glass, I cannot recall anything specifically based on your pictures.

Cheers.
Never forget more than 700 years of Italian Glass history, this is the secret!
Murano glass just for fun!

Hi Feline
Thank you for the advice. Tried that already but the brush does not bend at the angle required.
Used various claners but to no avail.
Pity.....so perhaps just dump it.

have a great week

or perhaps try to sell it warts and all. Someone might want it if you don't want to get it professionally cleaned

Try dishwasher powder it can work wonders. The water needs to be warm, hot would be better but it might crack.
Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.
Archimede tops my list.
