Large Scandinavain? champagne bowls
« on: September 09, 2016, 05:51:20 PM »
Hi Guys, I have purchased this lovely set of 6, I just couldn't resist them. 15.8cm tall and very wide. Beautifully made and very stylish.
They remind me of something like Orrefors or Holmegaard but I'm not sure. Any ideas? Tia Wolfie.

Hard to say, I dont think the colours are quite the same and imho my glasses a bit more elegant with beautiful flowing lines, probably not by the same designer? I keep thinking the colour mine is bang on Holmegaard Canada range but I know this could mean nothing.

Hello Wolfie, if you suspect Holmegaard and have got time to do a bit of scrolling try the Danish web site www hardernet.dk.
Good luck,
Tim

Doesn't immediately strike me as a Holmegaard design.

I don't know if it's an artifact of the photography, but the glass looks decidedly yellow-grey in the thicker parts - Holmegaard's 'Smoke' colour tended to be more green-grey.

Unfortunately I dont have a Canada example to stand it next to. No yellowyness, after having doing hours of looking, including trawling through www hardernet.dk. I dont think they are Holmegaard either, there's nothing like it really with those graceful sweeps.
I'll keep looking, they have to be by someone good :D
