Looking for info on Gerresheimer Glas bottle
« on: October 24, 2016, 06:07:44 AM »
I found a buried bottle that appears to be a corked style, brown bottle made by the Gerresheimer Glas Co. The trademark on the bottom is the "G under crown" stamp. The other markings include DIN with a line above and below listed first, 0,7L just below that and then below that is the trademark. Written sideways on left side of the bottle is 18:13 and on the right side of the bottle, also sideways is the number 5.

I attempted to search the value and get more information however, the only reference I can find was the trademark symbol dating back to 1939 - ? and all else was company direct documents written in German. Needless to say, I don't speak German unfortunately.

I cannot find a single example of any other bottles that are this size bearing this symbol on any site at all. The only current references I can find about this glassware company is pharma glassware made in the US, which this bottle (appearing to be a wine bottle). Anyone out there that knows anything about my find, I would love to know as my curiosity is pretty high now!!! Any info or links would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

Hi and welcome to the board.  The history of Gerresheimer Glas Co is given in this interesting page:  http://www.referenceforbusiness.com/history2/7/Gerresheimer-Glas-AG.html - they were a huge operation in Germany making glass bottles. The markings on your bottle are typical of those produced in automated bottle plants such as Gerresheimer.

My GlassLinks site has a page of bottle links: http://www.glassresearch.co.uk/glasslinks/articles.php?lng=en&pg=15
