Webbs Uranium pulled up trailing pinched jug set maybe?.
« on: December 21, 2016, 09:42:33 PM »
I'm looking at page 151 Gullivers Victorian decorative glass bottom right corner, described the same as mine with a polished pontil, fire polished rim, lead crystal ring and brown with a white central stripe but obviously uranium glass, no mention of uranium in the book but a few things in there are uranium with no mention, Stuart and Gray Stan did similar or could it be someone else? or even modern?, no wear they look brand new, any thoughts welcome.

The jug is 5 inches tall and the glasses 2 3/4 inches tall, three dimpled or pinched in sides.

Regards Chris.

they sound tiny when you mention the size?  Are they?  It's difficult to imagine as they look huge on screen, I'd imagined a water jug and tumblers if you see what I mean.
If they are small, just wondering what they might have been used for ...

Probably just decorative, here is a pick next to a standard size tin.

Nigel, did Filamentosa only come in this brown/cream feathered combination do you know?
I've seen another vase in a similar design and always wondered if it was Filamentosa - I can't remember the colours for sure but I think it was also the browny colour (well from the photograph I saw)

m - 'Filamentosa' came in a number of colour combinations, including green and white.

Cheers, Nigel
