« on: March 09, 2017, 08:29:54 PM »
Bought this vase today and wondered if anyone could help me to identify it have done a bit of research which makes me think it might be Loetz , it stands just over 10 inches and has a polished pontil on the bottom.

Hi brubaker50, and a belated welcome to the GMB.

I was hoping that somebody knowledgeable on Loetz items might have replied. But there can often be a delay in responses as not all people browse the Board regularly.

I have removed your additional post from the "Bohemia, etc." forum. When we get some positive replies, one way or the other, a moderator will move the whole thread to the relevant forum.

Personally I have little knowledge of what may be generic Bohemian items. However, it looks to me that your vase has an allover satin finish and I do not particularly associate that with Loetz items, which are more likely to have an iridescent finish.

Have you tried these sites?

It looks as though it is Loetz Medici but I don't know enough about the shapes to know whether it is a match or not.

Hope this helps.

Oh and welcome to the board :)

And after looking again at "medici": In m's link, 4th in top row and 2nd in bottom row I think it is a matching decor.

Could you link the matching shape please?
I'm sure it is Medici but the shape match would help close the thread.
Many thanks

I think it is the same shape although the neck on yours was slightly different in that it is shorter.
I think we need to find a link to another one without the silver overlay if we can.  But I am 99.999% sure yours is Medici.
