I've been doing a bit of searching for wfs owl images and have noticed the shape of the eyes varies considerably, from egg-shaped to proper ovals, as does the position of the beak mitre cut. Sometimes high up between the eyes, sometimes lower.
The width between the eyes seems to vary too.  ???

Rosie, those are wonderful, especially the little hedgehog ;D. Thank you for sharing! I hope to find out the maker, too, but I am excited to learn I have neodynium glass!

I think Whitefriars is the closest match so far, Sue! I posted on their collectors forum, maybe someone can offer a suggestion. I think it looks like Caithness and Whitefriars got together and had an owlet.

I'll let you know if I learn anything for sure, thank you both.
Kerrie

This is a pic of mine. It's not very good, but you can see how "eggy" the eyes are.  ;)
You do get a better feeling of the variations from looking at lots of them.

Just wanted to update;

The Whitefriars forum said no, not Whitefriars.

The Caithness forum said yes! I was hoping for more info about how they know it is Caithness, since it is unsigned, but haven't gotten a follow up.

This is the only Caithness Owl that I can find at the moment that has similar properties to your lovely owl.
Caithness do use neodymium glass,  so it is quite possible that your owl is Caithness,  but it would be good to find one the same as yours with a label or etched mark. :)
Let's keep searching.... I never give up! :)

If it isn't signed, it may have been sold in the factory shop. Helen MacDonald who told you it was Caithness is one of their designers and has been since 1974, so she should know.

I didn't know she was one of the designers,  that is so cool! How amazing that I was able to get someone from Caithness to see it. Sometimes I love the internet :)

Thank you for letting me know, and the tip about the factory store.

Try putting "Caithness Twit Twoo" in an image search engine. You'll find the Beatles.

I've just gone through my Caithness paperweight and gift catalogue from 2012, there are 4 striped owls there, which are of a very similar design, developed by Sarah Paterson
But you've already got Helen's word for it and you won't get better than that. :)

Apologies, I forgot to leave a link to the owl I had found with similarities to yours Kerrie787

It would be great to find an oval one, wouldn't it? :)
