Jade glass Cat Face Bowl with possibly Oriental character
« on: June 11, 2017, 01:00:26 AM »
I came across a bowl that looks more like an ash tray with an unusual cat face marker design on the bottom.
There was also one chinese/japanese letter or word in the cat face design. I could not find anything on the web so far to help identify the item. The cat face occupies the entire bottom of the bowl. The bowl is jade green in color.  I could not attach a photo to the post.
Its mostly curiosity about the unusual marker

Hi Kazerider, welcome to the Board.

What problem did you have with attaching photos? If it is a resizing problem, please see:

Here is an attempt to post a picture. I resized by percentage and just kept cutting the picture in half by file size

Here it is from the top down. It dont think it is an ash tray because the spaces are pretty wide and the cigarettes would most likely fall out. There is the possibility it was a lid of some sort. the oriental symbol referred to earlier is hard to see in the photo but it resembles a capital "I" with a diagonal mark in the middle of the "I". The mark is above and in between the eyes of the cat face. I will see if I can hi-lite the face with some powder to see if it will bring out the cat face better...thanks for any help

The little Chinese emblem got me looking and I might have found it. It closely resembles "Wang" and the English translation was "king"
