Another salt?
« on: March 02, 2018, 08:46:09 PM »
I'd be grateful if anyone recognises this little basket, I have a box of this sort of thing, these were not logged or even made my folks display, just put in a box and placed in the loft.
Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks Mike

never seen a salt sporting a basket type handle Mike  -  purely decorative possibly.        .........  assume those are centimetres?

Hi Paul, yes centimetres, I have an assorted box of these little things with or without handles, and my father said they were  "salts" but I wasn't so sure after spending hours on the internet.
Yes I agree, why would a salt have a handle.

Here's another one.
Thanks

bon bon trays  - pin trays - cuff-links trays - card trays  :)      not saying you couldn't use them as salts, but they seem over-decorative for such use, and only ever seen salts without a handle.

Hi Anne  -  guess you mean as opposed to a group ashtray ;D ;)         nah - you got that awl rong gel - no place for a fag of either sort. ;)

but seriously not seen an ashtray like these before  -  I shouldn't have said 'tray'  -  think I meant to say 'dish', as in bon bon dish. :-\

I still think simply decorative.
