Black glass orange speckled vase
« on: July 15, 2018, 03:01:05 PM »
Hello all, does anyone recognise this, thick glass that lets no light in even when held to the light. Polished pontil and base wear although it weigh's just under 2kg and measures 10 inches in height.

regards Chris.

It reminds me very much of Adam Aaronson's work, but it would be unusual to find his work unsigned.
Hopefully, he might pop in and let you know, one way or another. :)

Thanks for replying, one of my favourite finds this month, I can't help thinking it's much older though.

Interesting piece Chris, reminds me of Jackson pollack. It's heavy but that is still a lot of wear.

It is a lot of wear, but as it's heavy that would help, and if it is cased in crystal, that's a bit more easily worn than everyday glass.
Wear can indicate age, but it doesn't always mean the thing is old-old, just used and moved around a lot.
