Corroso glass?
« on: January 22, 2019, 04:24:45 AM »
I've had this snail for 10-15 years and couldn't identify a maker or country of origin, but finally found a very similar snail with a Murano label on it. Another member suggested it might be corroso glass but we both lack the knowledge to judge if it is or isn't. Can someone who has that knowledge give an opinion on what it is? Bob the Snail is 6" L x 3.5" H x 2" W with no signature or other marks, no mold lines and fairly heavy for its size.
Glass mutt. I collect anything I like & find interesting & is of reasonable quality.

After quite a bit of research, I have determined that this snail is an example of corroso glass. I've also identified several Murano glass makers who used labels instead of etched signatures on corroso glass, but none of the labels resemble the label I found. The search continues.
