Topic: Help identify maker on art glass vase

Hi,
Hoping someone can help me identify the mark on this art glass vase, I've searched online without success.
Overlaid AS within a circle above initials that appear to read AL - 17 in script with the number 700 beneath. Posted previously with links, thought this might be better.

OOh I don't know but there is something curious.
The AL followed by the, what appear to be, 17 might not be a 17 or the, what appears to be 700 might not be a '7', because they are scripted entirely differently.  If it is 17 it appears to have been scripted by European hand upgoing tail on the 1 and the cross on the 7.  But then the 700 appears to be just a standard 7.  So I wonder if the 17 might be IF or something?  It's odd.

Modified - scrub all that - it's a 17 but followed by a 100 underneath, not 700.
Looks as though it was scripted by a continental European maker imho (not USA or UK I mean)

It looks like there are two initials before the 17; "something" then L

So AL - That could be the maker ? for the Studio/Glass maker (AS)

Nancy how tall is the vase ?
And are the marking enamelled onto the vase? They look like it but can be difficult to tell from photos.

The logo bit could be A and S, or it could be A, O and S.
I thought at first the marks were acid etched. Depending on what was used to paint the acid on, it could look like this, bit after you suggestion of it being enamelled, m, I'm not so sure either!

I wanted it to be Steuben, but I really don't think it is. I've dug around their marks.
It quite possibly is American, given that is where the OP is. I know glass travels though. 
I do understand the matter of use of continental European-style numerals, but the use of those is quite widespread.
I always cross my 7s. They're naked without a bar.

My knowledge of American studios is very limited. I've checked the index of "American Studio Glass 1960-1990" (Martha Drexler Lynne) and not found anything with any combination of those initials.
But the index is lousy. I'm only a tiny bit into reading the book and filling in my own index in the back. And this piece could be from after that time.
The AS won't be Archimede Segoso, I assume.

It seems to me the circular AS , VS, AOS, or whatever is stamped with an etch.  The rest just looks like white marker pen to me.  Notice how the circular things edges are somewhat ragged in places wheras the writing has very clean and definite edges.  Might be worth a try with a little nail polish remover to see if it removes a tiny portion of either.
