The curved bottom of the column sits at the point where the base starts to turn under, so is about 3mm from the table top when you put it down.
There is a 24 point star on the base.
This does not martch up properly with the 26 columns, ovbiously.

Causing me to start doubting old quality, despite the other old features.

There is one deep v shaped tramline, on the top curve of the columns.
The bottom of the line of mitre leaf cuts is about 2mm above that line.
There is no other tramline.
The top of the mitre leaf cuts is ~ 5 mm from the rim.
