Hermanova Sets 11350 - 18660 / 18698 - 18700. One set?
« on: July 08, 2019, 08:46:42 PM »
I found this in a local charity shop last weekend.  It stood out because of what to me is the unusual shade of green.

I looks like the 18660 pot.  12cms, measured across from point to point.
18698 candlestick.
18700 tray.

The candlesticks are both marked "Czechoslovakia", unfortunately the re-sizing has blurred the lettering.

The candlesticks look to be leaning, but they aren't.  The raised areas are all sloping, giving the impression of one side being at a different angle than the other.

What a lovely find and I'd agree with your ID. The reason they are shown as separate items on the GTS website is that's how they were shown in the catalogue itself, despite clearly being the same pattern.  May I add your photos to the GTS website please as we have very few photos of these pieces so far?

You're welcome to add these pictures and any others I send, at other times.

I'm sorry they aren't better quality.  I'm not tech minded and although I've read the advice on uploading photos, I still find it a chore.   My photos often start out better but after reducing to about 120 - 125 KB to me they always look a bit blurred.

I also have this Stolze Hermanova Trinket Set. As you say it's an unusual colour, a pale minty green I'd say, very beautiful and quite substantial, I must take some pics.
Additionally I have the ring holder Catalogue Number 18699, 2 small pots and 1 large 18659 and 18660, plus the tray 18700 and 2 Candlesticks 18698. There also appears to be a soap dish 18658 and comb tray 18657. You may wish to add those extra catalogue images to your Trinket Sets site Anne.

Noted, thanks Jayne. I'll add them when I do the next site updates (probably next week as I've a lot on this week.)

The real point of my post is that while looking I noticed that  the Hermanova bowl no.  18659 / 60 looks very similar to the SFS Paracin bowl no. 2000.

Just wondering if the "mint" green of the Hermanova pieces I posted pictures of is a Hermanova colour?  It doesn't look like any of the photos with their other sets.  If it isn't, could it be a SFS Paracin set and not Hermanova?

Replying to your question theElench on the set here from this thread:

https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,69783.0.html

Your Green Minty coloured set above matches the Czech Stolzle Hermanova catalogue images which are further down the list on the GTS website.

https://www.glasstrinketsets.com/cms3/czechoslovakian/hermanova/18698-18700

I do notice the strong similarity to the SFS Paracin pattern 200 Trinket Pot though.

Also there is a soap dish and comb tray matching the set, images below.
