Sowerby Reg. 363049 dated 19.03.1881.

I've looked on the Board's archive but it didn't come up when I searched using the name and Rd. number, so hope I haven't missed it somewhere.

It's a late design in the list of lozenge Registrations, and would appear from the attached picture from TNA at Kew that it was simply the shape that was being protected  -  just a plain outline without any decoration  -  the trade mark is just about visible at about two o'clock in the first picture.
You can see where W/Fs got the 'cog wheel' idea from ;) ;)

In case the lozenge details aren't too clear, clockwise starting with the top they read  …...……..  19  -  E  -  W  -  11.

It's quite small  -  Simon Cottle calls it a 'Sweetmeat'  -  size is something like 5" (127 mm)  in diameter and 1.75" high (45 mm)  -  no idea if this one was ever produced in marbled or other colours.         Unfortunately, just realized that when taking the picture I've cropped the bottom excessively, and can see I chopped off the text description, so must assume Cottle was correct.

Apologies if we have had this previously.

Jenny Thompson lists it as a sweetmeat too Paul. The previous number registered on the same date was listed as a basket (363048) - we don't have that on the board either unfortunately.

Thank you for showing this, Paul.

I'll search the pattern books to see if I can find the corresponding Sowerby pattern number.

Paul, I'm pretty sure it's sweetmeat pattern no. 1625, shown on page 45 of pattern book XI (1885).

Herewith the pattern book illustration for permanent reference/comparison.
