Unusual silver mica & yellow mesh or cane work studio bowl???
« on: October 23, 2021, 11:50:08 AM »
Purchased on a whim as fell for the intricate internal patterns not a format i
am familiar with but reminded me of some earlier Italian designs but really not
sure at all. The base has been polished and a smaller polished scar inside this.
Lots of wear over much of the base , The rim edge is all hand formed and lovely.
Measures 3 3/4" x 2" ... Help  :)

I think it has mica in it.
Are there dark inclusions as well as the silvery mica flakes? or are the dark bits just the other side of them.

It reminded me a tiny bit of '60s Horst Tussselman Peill & Putzler with inclusions, but I think I am wa-aaay off. :-[

Love the comments  :) I think the silver mica appears darker as mentioned  from other side
making it look darker occasionally or possibly crumpled  but not different colors looks interesting :)
the only thing other than Italian that came to mind for me was Harrochov Harrtil lattice patterns but they are a different
angle and shape to the Yellow diagonal ones in this. Really feel it might have some good age to it also
just a feeling based on the mossy polished base. I have used a magnifying glass for marks but to much
wear to tell sadlly...

Similarities here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,54371.0.html

Right now I am too tired to remember the details along with what to search for but I think it might be a Czech maker. Flying Free may have had a vase and there were lamps too...

snap - I thought that last night but couldn't find the lamp to double check.
The lamp has been seen with a Czechoslovakia stamp if I recall correctly.
