Molineaux and Webb 704 ? Piano Foot
« on: November 05, 2021, 01:35:31 PM »
I've had this for a while but only just spotted the 704 pattern in neilh's M and W catalogue which looks very similar. It is 3 1/4 x 1 1/4".

I've just taken another look, I don't think it's M&W.  :P

One problem with a MW attribution for this is the colour. I could be wrong but I don't recall any registered MW pieces in green. There are several green examples matching unregistered items from the 1850s-1860s but nothing definitive as they tend to be smalls like piano feet or knife rests. Percival Vickers were much keener on green and this looks a good match for their number 2 foot.

Neil, I couldn't find it on your website but this is a link to a previous post which you replied to which shows it. Mods can you please retitle this, thanks.

Hi, I’m lucky enough to have most of the Molineaux and Webb and Percival Vickers insulators on Neil’s illustrations, I have numbers 1 and 2 on the PV list my 1 is green and no. 2 is clear. Your green one looks like my number 2 on the PV list. I’ve also included my Molineaux and Webb ones which are similar but not so bulky more shallow.
Cheers Mike

That's a nice collection, I do like the uranium yellow ones, I've also recently posted a PV no.13.
