Blue Lidded Bowl

Hi just bought this and will use it but also wondering if anyone knows who made it and due to its size, what it might be used for?
Its lid is ground and a perfect airtight fit, it was hand blown and big at 22cm at base 18cm top and 18cm to top of handle.
