Uranium glass jug
« on: May 20, 2022, 09:58:24 PM »
Small jug, 11cm tall, white and clear striped twist interior cased in uranium green; the clear stripes highlight the glitter (mica or foil?) flecks. There is an applied pink handle. This style I would associate more with Czechoslovakia / Bohemia but it seems a little chunkier than I would expect which, along with the flecks, might point to Murano. The age? Victorian, 1950s?

Any suggestions would be most welcome!

Possibly Bohemian, the colours and stripes possibly point to Franz Welz and late Victorian, but the rim looks to have been fire polished so maybe from Stourbridge. For reference Wayne has this one on his site.

It looks a bit like the work of the Bohemian maker that can often be mistaken for Monart.

Bohemian all the way. The fire polished rim is unusual but the rim would have had to have been reheated to create the lip. The flecks are mica
