Ok - according to the history books - apart from winning the World Cup... The Boy Scouts stopped being boys... and became The Scout Association... and the dyb dyb dyb thing was dropped to be replaced with a more up to date version!

In Canada, a woggle was called a toggle, and my brother did dib (or dyb) dib dib well into the '60's.  :wink:  :lol:

So here is another kettle of fish on a smoke coloured vase.

As it came with several pieces of Holmegaard, and the seller told me it was, I assumed it to be Holmegaard.

I agree that it's not Whitefriars.

But I'm not too sure about the Holmegaard attribution either. They signed most everything (aside from pressed glass, cased glass and some tableware), and even in the 70s when their output turned decidedly utilitarian and they stopped signing many things, they still seemed to take the effort to put a little scribble on the base when any kind of handcrafted effort went into producing it.

No, Emmi, you have to go back to page 2, Frank has one with a shoal but no whale (not my words....!!  :lol: ) and no bevelled edge, so we all reckon that is not Whitefriars....

cos basically, before we got into toggles and woggles, this was a serious conversation about vases with fishes on...
