Yep, I agree.   I thought exactly the same as you when looking at the weight on ebay a few minutes before turning to the GMB and finding your post.

... and i've just checked  -  it has exactly the same E cane as my Edinburgh Crystal papeweight inscribed on the base "Edinburgh".

Design is called "Lilac Vine" - unlimited edition.  Shown in the 1986 catalogue.  Has the E cane and the small flowing Caithness etched signature on the base 

Got excited when I saw the first posting in case it was one of the few Edinburgh ones i havent got - but no!!!  Alas!!
