I have an amber Jobling Fir Cone bowl, that unlike the other Fir Cones I have had doesn't have the registration number, just Reg'd Applied For , along the inside of the foot rim where you would expect the Regd number to be.

Does this mean I should date this firmly to just before 1932?

Yep

Basically anything up to the day before they got the registration-and had time to change the mould!

It usually took anything from 3-6 months to get registration - and come to think of it Jobling clearly batched them up and applied in blocks. that gives you an idea of the possible timeslot.

I don't have the exact date to hand

cheers

Mike

PS if you ever have such a thing as an idle day - go see the actualy registration documents at Kew they are great! I don't have a picture of the fircone registration, but I do have 'snaps' of most of the great Jobling registrations.

Thank you both!  I wasn't sure if they had produced things before registration in case of copying, in which case, maybe it was a copy from that time.

Thank you very much!
