Question about Chance Bros. 'Green Leaves'

<< < (5/7) > >>

robbo:
Hi Christine,
I'll try and take a better photo tomorrow, in natural light (difficult at this time of year  :) ). The green is exactly the same shade.
Best wishes,
Robbo

Wow, those are very interesting Robbo :o and, IMHO, definitely Green Leaves. I also have a photo in 'da book' of a tumbler (courtesy Graham Cooley) with a different design, although I still can't be 100% sure if this is Green Leaves.

The nearest sized bowl I have noted is 8 in, but this could vary depending on the size of the blank used, and sizes would undoubtably alter over the years when new moulds were made to replace older ones. Good point though. What is the height, Robbo?

Whatever... they definitely need to be donated to a museum (mine) >:D

robbo:
Hi David,

Here's a slightly better photo. The height is 3.7cm.
The only shapes I've seen are these and the three sectioned dish; is it possible that each shape had a slightly different design?

David E:
That's 1½ in. in real money ;)

This fits in with the sizes I have, so I'm certain this is Chance. This is the third definite Green Leaves shape I have seen: 3-seg tray, 6x4¾-in rectangular deep dish, and these round dishes. However, I would expect more shapes like plates and different size dishes: Green Leaves was a full tableware set!

Yes, the pattern could quite easily alter from one shape to another.

One person who probably has a full set is the Casson's daughter, so I might ask her for a photo.

robbo:
Hi everyone,

Yesterday I found another one! A circular dish but slightly smaller than the others (6½" diameter, just over 1" high). Again, the leaf shape is different.

Robbo
