Loetz Astglas?
« on: May 03, 2007, 09:24:07 PM »
Hi,
Anyone recognise the pattern on this bowl please? I had a similar patterned rose bowl which turned out to be  Loetz Astglas. I had listed it on Ebay hoping to get a tenner for it and it eventually went for well over £80. :o  ;D. The pattern on this is very similar but it has a rougher texture than that on the rose bowl as far as i can recall.

I could not get the image small enough for the Gallery.

Thanks,
Bryn (not Brian)

Bryn,
This finish can always be difficult to acheive/control.
Have you looked through Eddy Scheeper's fine site on Loetz, at: www.loetz.com
Regards,
Marcus

Hi Marcus,
Yes I've checked there, there is a similar Astglas pattern bowl but that has the typical Loetz dimples and a softer frill rim. The rose bowl I sold did not have the dimples but the pattern was clearer, but this bowl has a rough surface area.
There are a few more Loetz sites that i will search through.
Thanks,
I hope this gets through as i did try earlier and got a site down notice.
Cheers,
Bryn (not Brian)
