Nicely made blue bowl/vase
« on: June 13, 2007, 10:52:27 PM »
Rings like a bell when tapped. Nicely polished rim. A nice blue colour. Not for sale.  ;D

Polish? Ikea? Caithness?

Thanks Tigerchips.

Could it be the one at the bottom of the page?  Presumably they made the shape in other colours sometime :-\

Tim

I started with Carnival glass, then other C20 irridescent, then Whitefriars ducks, then Dartington FT Daisies etc, then Whitefriars Tricorns...when will it end?

Dartington did do a blue range a couple of years' ago but I can't recall if TC's bowl was one of them.

TC is the clear part of your stepped? It looks to be in the pic but it could be an optical effect instead.

Thanks TC. The Dartington range I was thinking of is called Devon Blue, but the foot doesn't look to be the same as your bowl, see example here:  http://www.dartington.co.uk/acatalog/Devon-Blue-Small-Bowl.html

Maybe it is an older piece of Dartington, it does have a bit of ware to the base.

Dartington is pretty much difficult to sell around my parts, I had a large blue ribbed bowl with the "D" mark and it must have been about £50 new. Could I sell it? Nope. Nobody even looked at it. I couldn't sell a charity tankard for £5 either.

Just having a bit of a friendly moan to myself.  ;D

TC, have a look at this red vase which has a foot that looks the same as yours... an unnamed Polish company it seems... http://www.bedbathstore.com/tallredvase.html
