What is the best Murano piece from your collection!?!?

My favourite piece of Murano - not that I have many, is this green tricorn bowl. It's quite modest compared to everyone elses, but I like it. It sits on my bedroom window ledge along with other green pieces (a mixture of Scandinavian and Italian) and looks cool when the sunlight streams through. It reminds me of a big glob of suspended liquid - lime jelly springs to mind! (pass the custard!) I think it's by Flavio Poli (according to ones seen on eBay) but not too sure, so would happy to be corrected. It still has the remains of its original gold label sticker on the base.
Just love looking at everyones' glass.

:D :D Hello, I've finally got my act together to photograph my facon-de-venise finger bowls. I don't know anything about them, I just liked them. I thought I could use them for floating candles, until I discovered that we don't actually like candles, they're smelly! These bowls are all different and are different colours, something to do with the thickness of the amber glass used in the clear. They're very fine, and don't appear to be cased, but they must be. In some of them, there is a completely clear bit on the base and in others there is a "lump" of amber. The feet are turned in from the original bubble of glass, they're made from one bit only. In one of them, there is a small gap between the foot and the bowl, which I discovered when the foot filled up with water :oops: ! They do not go green with a little UV light, but in daylight do seem to have a greeny-yellow glow - well the paler ones do anyway. This actually shows up quite well in the pictures. They have broken pontil marks. Any information about these (or my pink dragon bon-bon dish) would be gratefully recieved. I'd love to know even a ball-park figure for their age.

I think my Murano wine glasses with the gold aventurine in the stems http://tinypic.com/5cgmz5 go really well with the Baroque, but we tend to use the Waterford 'Seahorse' glasses all the time now :roll: :D (except they're packed away while the dining room is awaiting redecoration, so we are currently drinking everything out of the 'kitchen' wine glasses - utilitarian son would approve! :lol: )

Hi Terry,
On your ducks, I just bought 1 in the same color with a "Hand Made Venetian - J.I. Co. - Made In Italy" label. Now that I can handle it and see it in detail I would say it is closer to a Fratelli Toso piece in the design, than Seguso.
I do have to post a full pic of the "Svazzo" duck by Barbini. Will get that in here by tomorrow hopefully.
