Cathy — I can't recall exactly what I said in my missing reply, but here goes again:-
To me, your lovely orange cloud 34SVF is both stunning and important. It is a classic example of Davidson's brilliant flexibility with post-moulding reshaping. It is a wonderful colour variation of orange cloud which I have never previously seen in any shape. And it is a mystery to us today why this vase was not produced and sold by the tens or hundreds of thousands, and, thus, is a classic example of how significantly public tastes have changed over the intervening seventy years.
Should you ever consider selling it, I think it is of sufficient importance to warrant advance notice being provided to the four or so museums that hold major collections of cloud glass.
Grateful thanks for sharing it with us. I think it would be useful to split this thread and give your vase the topic it deserves in its own right — if one of our overworked moderators could spare the time.
