Vases Marked France..Any ideas who ?
« on: July 24, 2007, 08:41:47 AM »
Hi,

I actually have something thats marked!! I got the first vase, the pinkish orange one about 7 yrs ago..and today got the smoky one. Both are marked France with the pink France slightly larger. Both are numbered. The pink with a 6 and the smoky one with a 20. They measure just over 5 inches high, top approx 4 inches, base just under 2 inches. I was wondering about the company and the date if possible.

Hi Selina, these vases are really pretty aren't they?  I love those swirled sides.   :)  I think they're Luminarc or Arcoroc, not sure which.

Correct - those are made by ARC International, of Arques, France, aka Crystal d'Arques.  Not sure under which of their many brands it was made - they have Luminarc, Arcoroc, Arcuisine, Arcopal, Arcotherm, J.G. Durand and maybe a few others.

Max, they are lovely. Very simple but effective. And you would think Id see them everywhere but thats only the 2nd one Ive come across. And for $2.50, I couldnt resist it.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I will do some more research on those companies. You never know, I might come across which brand it was under.

Trudy, I have a vague memory that I've seen them on http://www.replacements.com under their Crystal listings (which covers glass and crystal). It may be worth a scan through the brand names Ivo lists.  Good luck. :)

Try also Vereco, again, another of JG Durand's brands.
