Clear Bohemian? vase with applied blue glass
« on: August 21, 2007, 07:45:38 AM »
Hi,

This is the last one I got on the weekend. Im not 100% sure on it. It looks kind of modern but also looks like some other's Ive seen. 18cm high. The lip is 14cm wide. The applied blue bit goes from the base to the first circle on the top but the others are inside the glass. The front 'collar' part is quite sharp to touch on the edges.

I should imagine that the first blue trail was applied when the vase had an upturned neck.  The other trails were applied afterwards and the neck cut to allow it to form its present shape.  It's a pretty vase and IMHO (have to say that!) it looks modern.   :)

One indicator of age is wear to the base, it's not a fail-safe indicator as it has been suggested that age-wear can be faked, but it's something to bear in mind anyway.  :) :)

Max there isnt much wear on the base....I had my suspicions it was modern. I guess its the first modern one Ive liked so now just the decision to keep or not to keep. Thanks for your help. :)
