Topic: pressed glass urn - looks fairly new to me

Hi everyone,
I bought this lidded pot today - not really my thing but it was mega cheap and I was intrigued to know what it is/was used for.

Although it doesn't show in the photo - it is an iridised blue and has REGd NO 905918 impressed on the bottom and also what looks like 5351.

I was speaking to Glen today, and she mentioned this thread.  In her book 'A Century of Carnival Glass' (isbn 0-7643-1209-X), there is a small entry on Page 51 for 'Jackson Brothers Ltd, Knottingley'.  The jar in this thread is one of theirs.  She has the same one in smoky grey with the RD number, and hers has the JBK moulded trademark.

She's never seen one of these jars with a label, but they were designed for a cosmetic company (something like Jean Poitou?) who used these jars for their products.

A big thank you for the info Glen - that would date it between 1962 and 1968 then, when the Jackson Brothers became part of the Rockware group.
When I bought it, I felt it was like something you would get from Avon cosmetics filled with bath salts!!!
