Unknown perfume bottle with stuck lid

Firstly, can anyone suggest ways of removing the metal top which is stuck fast please?  Secondly, any ideas of maker?  It looks possibly Scandi and art deco. Not sure if the bevel edged frosted panel showing a figure of the woman, star and 3 chevrons gives a clue. The glass is undamaged but it needs a good cleaning, and the metal top has seen better days.  No marks on the bevel edge base.

TIA :)

Hi Anne,

I don't know who made your piece, but are you trying to remove the whole top? The reason I ask is that I have a bottle with the same fitting and it is only the very top, straight piece, which actually unscrews.
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

::) :-[ ;D  Doh!  what a plonker! (ME that is!).  Thanks Della     It unscrewed off straight away.  I always imagine things to be more difficult than they actually are!

One down, one to go.  Maker anyone please..?

Not sure this helps any but the star looks like the Nato star and the chevrons designate a rank of Sargeant.
From a military perspective anyways, the significance of the star & chevrons could be entirely different.

Made in Belgium perhaps?

I'd check out Schlevogt.

Thanks Ivo.  I'll check it out.

Thanks too Alexander.  You are right, the star does looks like the NATO emblem, so assuming that this is correct, then the piece could date back to 1953.  It certainly has some age to it, but I just wonder why this would appear on a perfume bottle? Hmmm..?
