Opalique was a colourless opalescent glass, certainly not
opal, which I understand to be a non-opalescent glass coloured white, with a varying degree of translucency, depending on the context.
David — Is the figurine in your associate's impressive candelabra made of glass coloured white (
opal), or is it the frosting or satination that gives this effect? Della's figurine looks to me to be made of satinated colourless glass.
