I'm hoping this might be an easy one for the experts on this site, but I haven't been able to track down this makers mark.  It's in the shape of a fish, or is it a snake or an eel? encircling the letters UHV.  I'm guessing it's European just from the style of the letters. It's on a little green bowl (Uranium glass?  I don't have access to uv light so it's hard for me to tell.  It's about 5.5" wide with a pronounced dip in its rim at one side.  Another find at my local auction.
Any suggestions on maker, country of origin, age etc much appreciated.

Hi ckscot,
This is from Kosta Boda, the letters denote Ulrika Hydman Vallien. It is a snake, she frequently uses these in her work. I doubt very much that it is uranium glass, it seems too modern for that. Check out Kosta's website, you may find iout more  :)
best wishes

I doubt that it's uranium. 20th century uranium is generally of the very bright fluorescent yellow (Helena Tynell and Nanny Still both used it) variety rather than something added to green glass

Thank you so much.  I have checked out Kosta Boda's site and my bowl seems to be part of a range called 'Mine', which is currently in production. Can't find my actual colour, and I will keep searching, but the size and shape look just right. Funny, I had thought the piece was older than that since the initials have a 1930s 40s look to them. Ho hum.

hi ckscot,
I wouldn't worry too much about the colour being exactly right, it is from the series "Mine" and the colour can vary, depending upon how much "green" is in the dose.
There are other factors at play too, inclusive trends; there is a series called "Atoll"; since it was lauched there have been no fewer than 4 different shades of red and we are talking definite different colours here. The original was a  bright, clear red, after a few months it changed to a dull, dead red, then a lipsticky coral and now ( I thought the few I saw were seconds to start with ) the colour is almost bloodred.  :o and horrible, in my opinion.
It is easy to change the recipie ( spelling? ) for these pieces, if one shade doesn't work, then tweak and see if people buy the new shade :)

a40ty - Speaking of Atoll, can you have a look at this thread http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,17572.0.html ? I'm not entirely certain of what I'd written and it would be good to have confirmation or contradiction if necessary! Thanks!
