Difficult SIgnature to decipher
« on: October 26, 2007, 08:19:50 AM »
Hi All

Just digging some of my glass out of storage and noticed for the first time a small signature in a piece I picked up about 15 years ago.

Can anybody make it out. I think it says 'pilo 1900' or 'pylo 1900'. Unfortunately there is a scratch on the base that runs through the signature.

Size is 250mm (10") wide by 80mm (3") high

Any ideas would be welcome.

Bob

Hi Ardy

Try applying a small coating of talcum powder to the piece, and then photographing again, this will help the mark stand out better...washes off afterwards too...K  8)

I'm not convinced this is Murano. Can I move it to Glass and see if anyone else picks up on it?

Anne feel free to move it if you think it might help to identify it.

Bob

BTW I will be upset if its not Murano as that is just about all I collect.

Hi Sue C

I assume you mean Scandinavian and not a manufacturer called Scandi.

Sorry to appear dumb but I have made this kind of error before.
