First, let me say I'm pleased to have found this board....thanks for having it available!

I've been in the antiques biz for a number of years and glass is the one thing I can say I have never learned all that much about, there is so much, almost too much to learn. I can say I honestly appreciate and have a great deal of respect for people who have learned about glassware (all types) because of the vastness of it.

I need your opinions and ideas of what this bowl may be.

Here's what I know about it.
It comes from the home of an Italian family. The woman who owned it originally came from Italy, sometime in the 1920's.
This bowl “may” have come over with her, but we don’t know for sure. It could have been bought later or could have been from her mother and she brought it with her when she came here. We just have no way of knowing.

It looks to be hand blown (there are many tiny air bubbles in it)
It stands 5 3/4” tall, the opening is 5 1/2” and the foot or bottom is about 4 3/4”

The colors are “in” the glass, not painted on or a transfer.
There are no seams or places where it was joined. I guess that’s what makes me assume it’s hand blown.
The white or non colored area seems to have almost a satin appearance to it, somewhat like satin glass.

If anyone can identify this, I would really appreciate it.

Israeli acid stain on bought blanks (usually factory glass from France or Italy), by Ilanit (or Meyer) circa 1975 to present, a souvenir from a trip to the holy land where these were convincingly peddled on the beach: "Look mister, is unbreakable". Sorry for smashing your high hopes....

Also now being sold at shows and fairs in the UK by someone who is importing them... somewhere I think I have the importer name... I'll go check.
