1970s Swedish/US/Canadian importers?
« on: December 03, 2007, 07:29:13 PM »
Marcus has connectivity problems ATM, so has asked me to post this query on his behalf.

He is trying to track down any information on the following glass importers:

USA: Crystal Clear
Canada: S P Myers Co. Ltd
Canada: N. C. Cameron & Sons Ltd
Sweden: Brö--- Ivarsson Hjalmar Blonquist

He is not sure about the first word.

I guess it's Czech glass he's interested in? ;)

Cameron still exists: http://www.nccameron.com
They have a history page and a contact us page.
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Hi,
Trying to respect the entente cordiale, (but at €60 an hour with someone (experte d'ordinateur) who seems to be absolutely incapable  >:D >:D) (he arrived at 2.45 pm, left 10.45pm and the problem and meter may still be running)......... >:D >:D
The reason for this enquiry, (Thank you David) is that these companies were cited in a Czech journal as being the biggest importers of Sklo Union production.
Does anyone have documentation regarding Iranian importers in the 1970s?
Or an outfit trading as Ste Barois here in France?
TIA for any help you can offer,
Marcus

Hi,

I think this is BRIO:

"  BRIO, which is an acronym for Bröderna ("brothers") Ivarsson [at] Osby "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRIO

I found a listing on Tradera for one of their catalogues.
Brio are known for their wooden toys but have also sold other items including glass.
